This mural was created for the Boys & Girls Club of Paulsboro with the intention of celebrating youth, imagination, and the sense of possibility that emerges when children feel seen and supported. Designed specifically for the space and its community, the mural blends vibrant color, dimensional elements, and playful imagery to create an environment that feels welcoming, uplifting, and full of energy.
The design was inspired by the creativity and resilience of the children who use the space every day. Alongside the Club’s new community garden, the mural explores the idea of abundance on a larger-than-life scale. As the fruit grows full and healthy, it outgrows its container, and the structure reshapes itself, peeling away to make space for what is becoming. The opening reveals sunlight and a sense of limitless hope. Rising from the rubble is the message “Come Grow With Us,” symbolizing pride, optimism, and the potential that exists when a community invests in its youth.
Community impact was at the heart of this project. The mural was developed in collaboration with the organization and reflects its mission to provide a safe, inspiring place for children to learn, grow, and imagine their futures. My goal was to create a piece of public art that not only brightens the physical space, but also reinforces a sense of belonging and possibility for the children and families it serves.
This mural serves as a reminder of the power of creativity and wonder, especially in spaces dedicated to nurturing the next generation.
